Come Back Little Frog

Deep in the forest where animals love to hide,
there were five colorful frogs sitting side by side.
(Hold up five fingers.)

Winding down a tree trunk came a shiny jungle snake!
He scared the green frog, which splashed into the lake!
(Hold hands together, palm-to-palm and curve hands back and forth like a snake and hiss. Remove the green frog.)

A monkey on a tree branch was making lots of chatter!
He scared the red frog, which hopped into the water!
(Scratch under arms like a monkey and make monkey sounds. Remove the red frog.)

A parrot flapped his wings and screamed like he was boss!
He scared the orange frog, which leaped into the moss!
(Flap arms like wings and make a “caw, caw” sound. Remove the orange frog.)

A very hairy spider was climbing down the log!
He scared the blue frog, which jumped into the bog!
(Place fingers together on both hands and open/close fingers to make the spider walk. Remove the blue frog.)

A big black cat came creeping up behind!
He scared the yellow frog, now there're none to find.
(Make hands claw the air and make a big growl/meow. Remove the yellow frog.)

Where did all the frogs go? What will make them all come back?
(Hold hands palms up in the air at sides of shoulders.)

Come back little green frog!
(All call, “Come back little frog”. Stick 1 finger up. Bring back the green frog.)

Come back red frog too!
(All call, “Come back little frog”. Stick 2 fingers up. Bring back the red frog.)

Don’t be scared little orange frog!
(All call, “Come back little frog”. Stick 3 fingers up. Bring back the orange frog.)

Little blue frog, are you scared too?
(All call, “Come back little frog”. Stick 4 fingers up.Bring back the blue frog.)

Here’s little yellow frog he’s so brave! Now all our frogs are back!
I’m so glad aren’t you?
(Stick last (5th) finger up. Wiggle all five! Bring back the yellow frog.)

Print and cut out the colorful frogs below. Laminate and place a self stick velcro piece on the back (loopy side). These will stick well to a flannel board. Another option is to use self stick magnet strips and use a cookie sheet or pizza pan.
